It's great to cook your own food, know exactly what ingredients are going in, and enjoying the reward of a great meal. Most people will drive to their destination because it gives them increased mobility on their holiday. With the rise in petrol and the cost of wear and tear on your car you should consider other options. Kids can find the adventure of a train or coach far more interesting, and it takes away the stress of navigation.
