FILTER COTTAGES

Wherever you visit, you can usually find a good variety of places to stay; we realise that this isn't just restricted to cottages and that there is competition from b&bs and hotels. Cottages are usually found in country villages and areas, but can be modern as well as traditional. There's a good range of cottages in Wales which is great for you, the consumer. If you are holidaying with your family, a Wales cottage can be the perfect place to stay - both for you and your children. So you can let you kids do whatever they want (as long as you're happy!) without fear of being too noisy or too messy.

Renting is a great way to spend a week away. We work with some of the best cottage operators and agencies in the UK and so if we don't have a suitable property, you may find it doesn't exist. Getting the perfect property for your stay in Wales is made much easier with our site, but make sure you're prepared! Understanding how many beds you need is often more important that any of the other facilities such as wi-fi. Before you book, be clear on how many people need separate beds as if you're travelling with friends, they may not be up for sharing double beds!
Somerset is blessed with a large number of very excellent holiday cottages suitable for families, couples and just friends. If you have any concerns with your booking, please contact the cottage operator directly since we are unable to help. Even if you already have a busy itinerary planned for your holiday you might want to consider some additional activities in Wales and Somerset. From cycling and climbing right through to canoeing or just running around an empty field, there's no end of fun to be had. Or perhaps you're more interested in a pint of beer, a glass of wine or a gin and tonic in a traditional country pub?

When staying with friends we think self-catering is the best way to stay in Wales, it's just more fun. Whether you love cooking up a large stew, a roast dinner or just prefer a toasted cheese sandwich - it can match your mood. Most people will drive to their destination because it gives them increased mobility on their holiday. But have you considered taking a more environmentally sound approach, one that uses less carbon? You could go by train or coach, with a short taxi ride at the other end, and then hire some bicycles to get around.
