FILTER COTTAGES
...
Wherever you visit, you can usually find a good variety of places to stay; we realise that this isn't just restricted to cottages and that there is competition from b&bs and hotels. Often the most beautiful cottages can be found in the most unexpected places. The selection of Thompson holiday cottages is increasing every year. Children enjoy staying in cottages even more than adults, because there's a huge sense of freedom that they just don't get in a hotel, staying with friends or even at home. You can get up late, stay up late, go for walks, stay inside - and eat whatever takes your fancy, exactly when you're hungry.

Some of the best cottages in Thompson are available for rent. We know that sometimes it's hard to book a long way in advance, but the benefits are obvious - more availability. When you are looking for the right holiday cottage in Thompson, there are a few considerations to bear in mind. Understanding how many beds you need is often more important that any of the other facilities such as wi-fi. Before you book, be clear on how many people need separate beds as if you're travelling with friends, they may not be up for sharing double beds!
Norfolk is blessed with a large number of very excellent holiday cottages suitable for families, couples and just friends. Our site is focused on finding and recommending accommodation, we do not make the bookings, so if you have concerns, please contact the company who took your booking. If you're travelling with a group of friends you may want to burn some energy and get outdoors, and there are several options in and around Thompson. These can include mountain biking, swimming, road cycling, climbing, canoeing, flying kites, shooting - as well as tennis and golf. Or maybe you'd be happier sitting by the side of a river with a fishing rod, a cup of coffee and a good friend?

One of the great benefits of cottage holidays in Thompson is being able to self-cater, or at least do your own thing. It's a relief to be able to eat whatever you fancy, and any time of the day, and of course self-catering can include take-aways. Most people will drive to their destination because it gives them increased mobility on their holiday. Although it's good to be able to hop in the car to the nearest town when you get there - don't you really just want to get away from it all? Buses and coaches are often surprisingly good value, and a train journey will take you through countryside you'll never see from the road.

Norfolk

'Norfolk has a reputation for being a little flat, and there is much truth to that. But that does not mean that the county is not a great place to stay in a holiday cottage. The variety of countryside is still quite significant including a stunning coastline (particularly along North Norfolk), rolling chalklands, woodland, forests, and world renowned charm of the Norfolk Broads - which many people do not realise are actually man made.

Norfolks huge range of local attractions and facilities including arts and crafts, boutique hotels, beautiful gardens, amazing museums, exciting zoos, fine dining and casual restaurants, lovely old tea-rooms, pubs and inns. At one point Norwich was said to have enough pubs to visit a different one every day for a year, and a different church for every Sunday.

Norfolk has a rich heritage of Roman ruins including castles, walls and roads as well as beautiful churches, wonderful ... (more)
