Wherever you visit, you can usually find a good variety of places to stay; we realise that this isn't just restricted to cottages and that there is competition from b&bs and hotels. Many of our Fakenham properties are in outstanding areas of natural beauty. More than ever before, there's a good selection of holiday cottages in and around Fakenham. If you are holidaying with your family, a Fakenham cottage can be the perfect place to stay - both for you and your children. You can get up late, stay up late, go for walks, stay inside - and eat whatever takes your fancy, exactly when you're hungry.

Some of the best cottages in Fakenham are available for rent. The busiest times of year will be around the school summer holiday, so if you don't have kids, you may want to avoid July and August. When you are looking for the right holiday cottage in Fakenham, there are a few considerations to bear in mind. You may be confident in the location and the key amenities you want, but what about the bedrooms? Before you book, be clear on how many people need separate beds as if you're travelling with friends, they may not be up for sharing double beds!
Cottages in Norfolk range in size from small and quaint for a couple right up to properties that can accommodate more than 10. If you have a question about your reservation please contact the cottage operator who took your order and card details. If you're travelling with a group of friends you may want to burn some energy and get outdoors, and there are several options in and around Fakenham. Couples can take long romantic walks (or even silent ones!), friends can get on bicycles, families can visit adventure parks or play tennis. Or perhaps you're more interested in a pint of beer, a glass of wine or a gin and tonic in a traditional country pub?

One of the great benefits of cottage holidays in Fakenham is being able to self-cater, or at least do your own thing. It's a relief to be able to eat whatever you fancy, and any time of the day, and of course self-catering can include take-aways. Without a doubt the main way holiday makers get to their cottage is by car, because it's the easiest. With the rise in petrol and the cost of wear and tear on your car you should consider other options. Buses and coaches are often surprisingly good value, and a train journey will take you through countryside you'll never see from the road.

Norfolk

'Norfolk has a reputation for being a little flat, and there is much truth to that. But that does not mean that the county is not a great place to stay in a holiday cottage. The variety of countryside is still quite significant including a stunning coastline (particularly along North Norfolk), rolling chalklands, woodland, forests, and world renowned charm of the Norfolk Broads - which many people do not realise are actually man made.

Norfolks huge range of local attractions and facilities including arts and crafts, boutique hotels, beautiful gardens, amazing museums, exciting zoos, fine dining and casual restaurants, lovely old tea-rooms, pubs and inns. At one point Norwich was said to have enough pubs to visit a different one every day for a year, and a different church for every Sunday.

Norfolk has a rich heritage of Roman ruins including castles, walls and roads as well as beautiful churches, wonderful ... (more)
