Wherever you visit, you can usually find a good variety of places to stay; we realise that this isn't just restricted to cottages and that there is competition from b&bs and hotels. Often the most beautiful cottages can be found in the most unexpected places. The selection of Breckland holiday cottages is increasing every year. Kids love staying in cottages and although hotels can have more facilities, there's not the same sense of adventure - and there are certainly more rules and regulations. The freedom to be able to come and go as you please, being able to cook your own food, or just being able to sleep in as long as you want.

There are many rental cottages in Norfolk that can accommodate you. The busiest times of year will be around the school summer holiday, so if you don't have kids, you may want to avoid July and August. Choosing the right Breckland accommodation is sometimes complicated when there are so many factors. Understanding how many beds you need is often more important that any of the other facilities such as wi-fi. Getting the right number of beds and bedrooms can be the difference between friends and family sleeping well - or not at all.
Some of the best cottages in Norfolk can be found in and around Breckland, so we hope you find what you need. Our site is focused on finding and recommending accommodation, we do not make the bookings, so if you have concerns, please contact the company who took your booking. Although we can't promise this for all our cottages in Breckland and Norfolk, many of them are very close to a number of outdoor facilities. Couples can take long romantic walks (or even silent ones!), friends can get on bicycles, families can visit adventure parks or play tennis. Or perhaps you're more interested in a pint of beer, a glass of wine or a gin and tonic in a traditional country pub?

The best thing (at least as far as we're concerned) about staying in a Breckland holiday cottage is the self-catering. It's a relief to be able to eat whatever you fancy, and any time of the day, and of course self-catering can include take-aways. If you're like the majority of people you are probably assuming you will travel to Breckland by car. But have you considered taking a more environmentally sound approach, one that uses less carbon? Although most places are going to be out of reach by bicycle the UK train and coach network can get you very close.

Norfolk

'Norfolk has a reputation for being a little flat, and there is much truth to that. But that does not mean that the county is not a great place to stay in a holiday cottage. The variety of countryside is still quite significant including a stunning coastline (particularly along North Norfolk), rolling chalklands, woodland, forests, and world renowned charm of the Norfolk Broads - which many people do not realise are actually man made.

Norfolks huge range of local attractions and facilities including arts and crafts, boutique hotels, beautiful gardens, amazing museums, exciting zoos, fine dining and casual restaurants, lovely old tea-rooms, pubs and inns. At one point Norwich was said to have enough pubs to visit a different one every day for a year, and a different church for every Sunday.

Norfolk has a rich heritage of Roman ruins including castles, walls and roads as well as beautiful churches, wonderful ... (more)
