Many of our properties are situated in beautiful villages, quiet countryside or charming seaside towns. Cottage holidays have a unique feel to them and there are more and more cottages available in Lancaster. Taking your family away can be fun and stressful, but we find that staying in a cottage takes much of that stress away. The excitement of a new bedroom that they can make their own is enough draw, without all the benefits of playing outside in the safety of a quiet rural environment.

A cottage can be perfect for a very short break or very long holiday. We work with some of the best cottage operators and agencies in the UK and so if we don't have a suitable property, you may find it doesn't exist. Choosing the right Lancaster accommodation is sometimes complicated when there are so many factors. Although location and the core facilities play a large part in the decision, please make sure you pay attention to the beds. Before you book, be clear on how many people need separate beds as if you're travelling with friends, they may not be up for sharing double beds!

From cycling and climbing right through to canoeing or just running around an empty field, there's no end of fun to be had. Or perhaps you're more interested in a pint of beer, a glass of wine or a gin and tonic in a traditional country pub?

When staying with friends we think self-catering is the best way to stay in Lancaster, it's just more fun. Now that doesn't mean you need to cook everything because there are plenty of places to eat out in Lancaster Lancashire. Assuming you don't own a private helicopter, you're probably thinking about travelling in your own car. With the rise in petrol and the cost of wear and tear on your car you should consider other options. You could go by train or coach, with a short taxi ride at the other end, and then hire some bicycles to get around.
