FILTER COTTAGES
...
Wherever you visit, you can usually find a good variety of places to stay; we realise that this isn't just restricted to cottages and that there is competition from b&bs and hotels. Many of our Plymouth properties are in outstanding areas of natural beauty. This year we have seen more cottages available in Plymouth than ever before. Taking your family away can be fun and stressful, but we find that staying in a cottage takes much of that stress away. Because you can do whatever you want, whenever you want, and don't have to worry about anyone getting upset.

Some of the best cottages in Plymouth are available for rent. We work with some of the best cottage operators and agencies in the UK and so if we don't have a suitable property, you may find it doesn't exist. The choice of Plymouth cottages is very broad so its important to understand what you need in advance. Understanding how many beds you need is often more important that any of the other facilities such as wi-fi. Getting the right number of beds and bedrooms can be the difference between friends and family sleeping well - or not at all.
Cottages in Devon range in size from small and quaint for a couple right up to properties that can accommodate more than 10. If you have a question about your reservation please contact the cottage operator who took your order and card details. If you're travelling with a group of friends you may want to burn some energy and get outdoors, and there are several options in and around Plymouth. There are usually opportunities to play golf or tennis, or if you're into solo sports there's always biking, running and sometimes archery. Or maybe you'd be happier sitting by the side of a river with a fishing rod, a cup of coffee and a good friend?

The best thing (at least as far as we're concerned) about staying in a Plymouth holiday cottage is the self-catering. Whether you love cooking up a large stew, a roast dinner or just prefer a toasted cheese sandwich - it can match your mood. If you're like the majority of people you are probably assuming you will travel to Plymouth by car. Although it's good to be able to hop in the car to the nearest town when you get there - don't you really just want to get away from it all? Buses and coaches are often surprisingly good value, and a train journey will take you through countryside you'll never see from the road.

Devon

Devon is sandwiched between the two great counties of Somerset and Cornwall, and for many people it is the best of the three - you do not need Cornish pasties and Somerset cider when you can feast on Devon cream teas. The source of the name Devon comes from Dumnonia, the home of a tribe of Celts who were around when the Romans invade Britain.

Devon is deceptively large, in fact it is the fourth largest county in England but has a population of just over a million with the main city being Exeter, the home of one of the UKs best universities as well as the stunning Gothic cathedral that you can visit for religious or tourist purposes. The other significant city is Plymouth which has been a navy port for centuries. Devon has a number of fantastic stately homes including Arlington Court, Buckland Abbey, Castle Drogo, Killerton House, Powderham ... (more)
