As a holiday maker you have a great number of accommodation choices when it comes to staying away in the UK. Many of our Exminster properties are in outstanding areas of natural beauty. Cottage holidays have a unique feel to them and there are more and more cottages available in Exminster. Taking your family away can be fun and stressful, but we find that staying in a cottage takes much of that stress away. You can get up late, stay up late, go for walks, stay inside - and eat whatever takes your fancy, exactly when you're hungry.

Renting is a great way to spend a week away. The busiest times of year will be around the school summer holiday, so if you don't have kids, you may want to avoid July and August. When you are looking for the right holiday cottage in Exminster, there are a few considerations to bear in mind. There's no doubt that being in the right town or village is a big factor, but the number of beds you need is more so. We suggest that you check with everyone in advance to ensure that you have the right number of beds and bedrooms.
Some of the best cottages in Devon can be found in and around Exminster, so we hope you find what you need. If you want to query any part of your booking you should get in touch with the company that took your reservation and sent you a confirmation email. Couples can take long romantic walks (or even silent ones!), friends can get on bicycles, families can visit adventure parks or play tennis. If you like more gentle options there's always a good walk nearby, and sometimes it might lead you to a pub.

Self-catering can make a cottage holiday in Exminster much more flexible, allowing you to eat whatever you want (or can cook). Now that doesn't mean you need to cook everything because there are plenty of places to eat out in Exminster Devon. Most people will drive to their destination because it gives them increased mobility on their holiday. With the cost of petrol ever increasing it's worth investigating alternative travel arrangements. Buses and coaches are often surprisingly good value, and a train journey will take you through countryside you'll never see from the road.

Devon

Devon is sandwiched between the two great counties of Somerset and Cornwall, and for many people it is the best of the three - you do not need Cornish pasties and Somerset cider when you can feast on Devon cream teas. The source of the name Devon comes from Dumnonia, the home of a tribe of Celts who were around when the Romans invade Britain.

Devon is deceptively large, in fact it is the fourth largest county in England but has a population of just over a million with the main city being Exeter, the home of one of the UKs best universities as well as the stunning Gothic cathedral that you can visit for religious or tourist purposes. The other significant city is Plymouth which has been a navy port for centuries. Devon has a number of fantastic stately homes including Arlington Court, Buckland Abbey, Castle Drogo, Killerton House, Powderham ... (more)
