No matter where you go there is often a very wide selection of places to stay including hotels, bed and breakfasts, and apartments. Often the most beautiful cottages can be found in the most unexpected places. Cottage holidays have a unique feel to them and there are more and more cottages available in Dartmouth. If you are holidaying with your family, a Dartmouth cottage can be the perfect place to stay - both for you and your children. So you can let you kids do whatever they want (as long as you're happy!) without fear of being too noisy or too messy.

Some of the best cottages in Dartmouth are available for rent. The busiest times of year will be around the school summer holiday, so if you don't have kids, you may want to avoid July and August. The choice of Dartmouth cottages is very broad so its important to understand what you need in advance. There's no doubt that being in the right town or village is a big factor, but the number of beds you need is more so. We suggest that you check with everyone in advance to ensure that you have the right number of beds and bedrooms.
Devon is blessed with a large number of very excellent holiday cottages suitable for families, couples and just friends. If you want to query any part of your booking you should get in touch with the company that took your reservation and sent you a confirmation email. Dartmouth and Devon have a number of great things to do if you want to sample the fresh air and move a few muscles. From cycling and climbing right through to canoeing or just running around an empty field, there's no end of fun to be had. But many people also like to just take it easy - and sit back and enjoy the experience away from the stress of work.

One of the great benefits of cottage holidays in Dartmouth is being able to self-cater, or at least do your own thing. Whether you love cooking up a large stew, a roast dinner or just prefer a toasted cheese sandwich - it can match your mood. Without a doubt the main way holiday makers get to their cottage is by car, because it's the easiest. With the rise in petrol and the cost of wear and tear on your car you should consider other options. Kids can find the adventure of a train or coach far more interesting, and it takes away the stress of navigation.

Devon

Devon is sandwiched between the two great counties of Somerset and Cornwall, and for many people it is the best of the three - you do not need Cornish pasties and Somerset cider when you can feast on Devon cream teas. The source of the name Devon comes from Dumnonia, the home of a tribe of Celts who were around when the Romans invade Britain.

Devon is deceptively large, in fact it is the fourth largest county in England but has a population of just over a million with the main city being Exeter, the home of one of the UKs best universities as well as the stunning Gothic cathedral that you can visit for religious or tourist purposes. The other significant city is Plymouth which has been a navy port for centuries. Devon has a number of fantastic stately homes including Arlington Court, Buckland Abbey, Castle Drogo, Killerton House, Powderham ... (more)
