FILTER COTTAGES
...
Wherever you visit, you can usually find a good variety of places to stay; we realise that this isn't just restricted to cottages and that there is competition from b&bs and hotels. Cottages are usually found in country villages and areas, but can be modern as well as traditional. Cottage holidays have a unique feel to them and there are more and more cottages available in Cullompton. Kids love staying in cottages and although hotels can have more facilities, there's not the same sense of adventure - and there are certainly more rules and regulations. So you can let you kids do whatever they want (as long as you're happy!) without fear of being too noisy or too messy.

There are many rental cottages in Devon that can accommodate you. We work with some of the best cottage operators and agencies in the UK and so if we don't have a suitable property, you may find it doesn't exist. Getting the perfect property for your stay in Cullompton is made much easier with our site, but make sure you're prepared! Booking the right number of bedrooms is critical as although too many is a luxury, too few can be a big problem. Make sure you know who is prepared to share a room, and who isn't - it's not always obvious til you ask.
Devon is blessed with a large number of very excellent holiday cottages suitable for families, couples and just friends. If you have any concerns with your booking, please contact the cottage operator directly since we are unable to help. Even if you already have a busy itinerary planned for your holiday you might want to consider some additional activities in Cullompton and Devon. These can include mountain biking, swimming, road cycling, climbing, canoeing, flying kites, shooting - as well as tennis and golf. Or perhaps you're more interested in a pint of beer, a glass of wine or a gin and tonic in a traditional country pub?

Self-catering can make a cottage holiday in Cullompton much more flexible, allowing you to eat whatever you want (or can cook). Whether you love cooking up a large stew, a roast dinner or just prefer a toasted cheese sandwich - it can match your mood. Without a doubt the main way holiday makers get to their cottage is by car, because it's the easiest. With the rise in petrol and the cost of wear and tear on your car you should consider other options. Buses and coaches are often surprisingly good value, and a train journey will take you through countryside you'll never see from the road.

Devon

Devon is sandwiched between the two great counties of Somerset and Cornwall, and for many people it is the best of the three - you do not need Cornish pasties and Somerset cider when you can feast on Devon cream teas. The source of the name Devon comes from Dumnonia, the home of a tribe of Celts who were around when the Romans invade Britain.

Devon is deceptively large, in fact it is the fourth largest county in England but has a population of just over a million with the main city being Exeter, the home of one of the UKs best universities as well as the stunning Gothic cathedral that you can visit for religious or tourist purposes. The other significant city is Plymouth which has been a navy port for centuries. Devon has a number of fantastic stately homes including Arlington Court, Buckland Abbey, Castle Drogo, Killerton House, Powderham ... (more)
