When staying with friends we think self-catering is the best way to stay in Millom, it's just more fun. It's a relief to be able to eat whatever you fancy, and any time of the day, and of course self-catering can include take-aways. Cars are by far the preferred mode of transport and travel to Millom and Cumbria. But we'd suggest that taking the car can add to the stress levels and you can arrive exhausted from a long drive. Kids can find the adventure of a train or coach far more interesting, and it takes away the stress of navigation.
