Some of the best cottages in Holmrook are available for rent. The busiest times of year will be around the school summer holiday, so if you don't have kids, you may want to avoid July and August. The best thing (at least as far as we're concerned) about staying in a Holmrook holiday cottage is the self-catering. It's great to cook your own food, know exactly what ingredients are going in, and enjoying the reward of a great meal. Cars are by far the preferred mode of transport and travel to Holmrook and Cumbria. With the cost of petrol ever increasing it's worth investigating alternative travel arrangements. You could go by train or coach, with a short taxi ride at the other end, and then hire some bicycles to get around.
