No matter where you go there is often a very wide selection of places to stay including hotels, bed and breakfasts, and apartments. Often the most beautiful cottages can be found in the most unexpected places. There's a good range of cottages in Troon which is great for you, the consumer. Taking your family away can be fun and stressful, but we find that staying in a cottage takes much of that stress away. You can get up late, stay up late, go for walks, stay inside - and eat whatever takes your fancy, exactly when you're hungry.

There are few things better than renting a Troon cottage for a week. We work with some of the best cottage operators and agencies in the UK and so if we don't have a suitable property, you may find it doesn't exist. Choosing the right Troon accommodation is sometimes complicated when there are so many factors. There's no doubt that being in the right town or village is a big factor, but the number of beds you need is more so. We suggest that you check with everyone in advance to ensure that you have the right number of beds and bedrooms.
Cottages in Cornwall range in size from small and quaint for a couple right up to properties that can accommodate more than 10. If you have any concerns with your booking, please contact the cottage operator directly since we are unable to help. If you're travelling with a group of friends you may want to burn some energy and get outdoors, and there are several options in and around Troon. Families can enjoy long bike rides, couples can enjoy energetic walks and groups of friends can be more adventurous, such as climbing. Or maybe you'd be happier sitting by the side of a river with a fishing rod, a cup of coffee and a good friend?

When staying with friends we think self-catering is the best way to stay in Troon, it's just more fun. From home cooked meals to pub lunches and from smart restaurants to take away pizza, there's much more choice. Cars are by far the preferred mode of transport and travel to Troon and Cornwall. With the rise in petrol and the cost of wear and tear on your car you should consider other options. Trains, buses and coaches are a much more carbon friendly solution since the fuel is shared by so many more people.

Cornwall

'We love Cornwall. It is a unique county, surrounded by water on all sides (including the River Tamar in the East), with a stunning landscape and the warmest climate in Britain.

It is no wonder that tourists flock here to rent holiday cottages. But it is not just beuatiful beaches and cliffs, there are large areas of moorland and woodlands... and many beautifully tended gardens. With more than 5 million visitors to the county every year it is one of the top choices for a staycation - a holiday in your home country.

Access to Cornwall has much improved in recent years with much faster and well-maintained roads, but also airports in Newquay and Plymouth and a very good train service to and from London.

Surfing is extremely popular on the North Coast, specifically in and around Newquay, and the arrival of the
Eden Project near St Austell has brought even ... (more)
