FILTER COTTAGES
As a holiday maker you have a great number of accommodation choices when it comes to staying away in the UK. Berkshire is full of great places to stay, with self-catering accommodation in nearly every town. More than ever before, there's a good selection of holiday cottages in and around Scotland. Scotland family holidays in cottages are great for many reasons, but certainly the number one reason is creating a temporary home from home. You can get up late, stay up late, go for walks, stay inside - and eat whatever takes your fancy, exactly when you're hungry.

There are few things better than renting a Scotland cottage for a week. We work with some of the best cottage operators and agencies in the UK and so if we don't have a suitable property, you may find it doesn't exist. The choice of Scotland cottages is very broad so its important to understand what you need in advance. Understanding how many beds you need is often more important that any of the other facilities such as wi-fi. The bed-factor can be a deal breaker - so if you think anyone might not be happy sharing with someone else, please check.
Berkshire is blessed with a large number of very excellent holiday cottages suitable for families, couples and just friends. If you have any concerns with your booking, please contact the cottage operator directly since we are unable to help. Although we can't promise this for all our cottages in Scotland and Berkshire, many of them are very close to a number of outdoor facilities. There are usually opportunities to play golf or tennis, or if you're into solo sports there's always biking, running and sometimes archery. If you like more gentle options there's always a good walk nearby, and sometimes it might lead you to a pub.

When staying with friends we think self-catering is the best way to stay in Scotland, it's just more fun. It's a relief to be able to eat whatever you fancy, and any time of the day, and of course self-catering can include take-aways. Cars are by far the preferred mode of transport and travel to Scotland and Berkshire. With the cost of petrol ever increasing it's worth investigating alternative travel arrangements. Buses and coaches are often surprisingly good value, and a train journey will take you through countryside you'll never see from the road.
