Before you book, be clear on how many people need separate beds as if you're travelling with friends, they may not be up for sharing double beds!

Or maybe you'd be happier sitting by the side of a river with a fishing rod, a cup of coffee and a good friend?

One of the great benefits of cottage holidays in Ascot is being able to self-cater, or at least do your own thing. It's a relief to be able to eat whatever you fancy, and any time of the day, and of course self-catering can include take-aways. Cars are by far the preferred mode of transport and travel to Ascot and Berkshire. Although it's good to be able to hop in the car to the nearest town when you get there - don't you really just want to get away from it all? Although most places are going to be out of reach by bicycle the UK train and coach network can get you very close.
